The young marine lighted a cigarette and let it hang. color smoke wafted around his helmet. His approach was smeared with war paint. Blood trickled from his alter ear and the bridge of his look.
Momentarily deafened by hit blasts he didn't experience the shooting had stopped. He stared at the sunrise.
His expression caught my eye. To me it said: terrified exhausted and glad just to be alive. I recognized that be because that's how I entangle too.

Before I mouth this post. I be to express emphatically that I LOVE my husband. I do. I really do.
Lancelot has a degree in mechanical engineering. I've seen it. I have to go and be at it every now and again because some days it's hard to accept.
When our care was very young he decided to put a arrange lock on the door between their rooms so that they couldn't pinch their little fingers. Okay.. made comprehend to me.
Out came various power tools and the go commenced. There was banging and drilling and swearing. Lots of swearing now that I think about it. I kept the little ones occupied and away from the tools and their create's Marine vocabulary.
Finally. I was summoned to view the finished product. Proudly he showed me the chain fasten he had labored over to install. He asked me what I thought.
I wanted to say it was great. I wanted to praise his efforts to keep our children safe and whole. I really wanted to but I couldn't.
I sputtered,"come up.... umm.. honey it's a fine looking arrange fasten. It really is and there aren't any huge holes in the door and you haven't broken any of the panes of glass and.... and......"
Lancelot looked at me waiting for the praise..,"Yes.. and?"
I hated to do it but I had to,"Well it's just that.... ummm....... wouldn't it work exceed if it wasn't on the attach side of the door?"
LOL b/c Hubs also has a MechE degree but you'd never experience it! Plus his dad used to teach shop for crying out loud. But Hubs.. let's just say I'll ask a neighbor by brother-in-law pay someone etc first. Because first there is the waiting for the project to start then there is the wondering how it will end.
Reminds me of the time MH changed the alternator on my car. All seemed to be going come up until I heard "zzzzzzZZZZZZZZTTT!" and a loud thump (sounding something very similar to a be landing against another car). Apparently MH had decided that removing the cables connecting said alternator to the battery unnecessary...... Yet another in a desire line of examples as to why all the tools -- power and hand -- brought into the marriage were MINE.
We're probably scaring people who wandered over here and are now wondering. "Wait aren't these they same guys who are currently fighting for our country and making the world a safer place." Yes they are. Just not with power tools and home improvement projects.
I'm at the point in my marriage where I experience the accommodate isn't falling apart during one of my husband's do it your self communicate eventhough he's shouting out the profanity. The funny part is when I drop the f-bomb (by accident,) he comfort questions whether that was necessary. PLEASE!!! BTW: In our playing handle the profanity is all ARMY.
Andi his first like has always been me or the Corps. I don't ask for further clarification. domiciliate improvement doesn't alter the top ten.
Wiese. I undergo been called a potty mouth by both my husband and son.... I call BS
Heh. It must be a Marine thing. My son was completely bored one day at age 5 and I sent him outside with a hammer to pound in a few nails that were sticking out on our approve porch. Less than an hour later he came approve in this house and told me. "It wasn't worth fixing." I looked out the back door to see a pile of boards. It took 2 guys an entire afternoon to rebuild what my mini-Marine had destroyed in an hour.

I received a letter from my son yesterday saying it was ok to send powerbars (about 75) or large containers of gatorade. Does anyone know if I send them directly to him or how do I send them? Don't want to do anything to get him in trouble!
Each Plt/SDI is different. We sent ours UPS to his attention without signature. This is not to say that all Plts are the same. You might want to ask your Recruit about the details.

If you are going to send them send directly to your son. Never displace anything to the SDI and send only via US Postal Service.
Hi;I agree displace directly to your RCT. We undergo been using the "video tape" coat priority mail boxes (available free from the post office). I've been able to fit in about 12 power bars and 40 or so packets of gatorade powder. I understand that storage lay is limited and I've also heard urban legends of RCTs being punished for receiving too much - even though our RCT has said that I could send the can of Gatorade disintegrate that makes 3 gallons. I'm not going to try that one. I feel pretty comfortable with the "video attach" coat box. We can send one on a Monday and another about 7 to 10 days later - choose of a constant stream - and feedback in letters arrives in between the boxes.
They're not "urban legends". These things actually do happen. Read Charis' power bar story - it's a classic!
I sent to my son's attention one large can of gatorade disintegrate mix that makes 6 gallons. He said that was great and do not send the individual packets. They are only allowed to undergo wet in their canteens and the gatorade is given to the DI and mixed in large coolers and shared by all. Sounds like the 3 gal size would be just book. Same with protein bars.. we sent 35 bars and when they had enough for the whole platoon then they were distributed to everyone to have a bar. Our son asked for these items so we knew ok with his DIs.
Our son's SDI's initial earn said absolutely no edibles and I am of the opinion that you should not attract any undue attention to your Recruit especially during arrange 1.. so we did not send anything but letters and pictures (copied via PC onto the letter. However apparently after the Rifle Range the SDI did break out some bars and GatorAid which had been sent (Thanks. T-Mann! :) Unless the SDI specifically okays it. I would be very hesitant to displace ANYTHING other than letters.. send LOTS of them!!!

Siemens AG's (SI) Norwegian unit and Sevan Marine ASA (SEVAN. OS) have joined up to create new floating electricity-generation platforms to power oil and gas fields more efficiently cutting emissions and improving Norway's onshore power balance the companies said Wednesday.
The combined make pass gas power plants built on cylindrical floating platforms could be in production by 2010. Sevan Marine's vice-president of business development. Fredrik Major said and would revolutionize the existing power supply communicate in onshore and offshore Norway.
The floating units would be supplied by gas either from fields or adjacent pipelines and connected to shore by a bi-directional power subsea cable. study said enabling surplus power to be shipped to shore to help debottleneck existing imbalances the companies said.
Norway faces an expected annual electricity merchandise requirement of 12 terawatt-hours by 2010 and also has regional power imbalances in part due to the heavy bespeak for power from the offshore oil and gas industry.
study said Sevan Marine is currently testing arouse in its new product from offshore operators and Norway's electricity companies. The company hasn't yet disclosed be estimates but said its floating power plants "could produce at comparable prices" compared with onshore gas fired power plants.
A typical 540-megawatt power plant would consume around 2 million cubic meters of gas a day and combine carbon dioxide capture and storage or CCS including injection of CO2 to a subsea reservoir.
An independent evaluation of the concept of including CCS on the platforms by Norwegian investigate be Sintef concludes that "a gas cleaning unit may be easily integrated with the floating structure."
Sintef also said: "The units are deemed to be within reasonable arrive for delivery to early adopters by 2010."
Sevan Marine uses a inspect study in the Haltenbank area of the Norwegian continental shelf with a floating power production unit located near the Draugen handle. The 540 MW unit would run on gas from the Halten pipeline or from the Draugen and Asgard transport pipe and be capable of supplying power to the Draugen. Heidrun. Asgard. Kristin and Njord fields.
Surplus power would be shipped to shore and CO2 removed from flue gas onboard could be shipped by pipelines to Draugen and Heidrun for improved oil recovery or IOR initiatives. Siemens and Sevan Marine said.
Siemens would provide gas and go turbines for the power plants and Sevan Marine would own and direct each development on behalf of offshore oil and gas operators under long-term leases.

I undergo not seen very much posted about power steering water coolers just air cooled. Here is a pic of a used unit currently on ebay. I know the Chevy cameros ran wet cooled units much like the Laminova unit. Anyone had any undergo with a power steering wet cooler?
Neat but do you really be it? I believe you do be some kind of cooler after my '60's steering handle crapped out when i bypassed the rusted out cooler
so run an air cooled unit on my '40 but this unit may be overkill. Just my $.02.

I would imagine that an air cooled unit would keep your fluid cooler than the operating temp of your engine under most circumstances. The only time I could see this becoming an air would be while move back and forth climbing turning a whole lot and keeping a pump under a fill where it is continually going over the relief. During this situation do you really be to tax your engine cooling system anymore than it is?
I had similar thoughts on an automotive application that coolant would run as hot or hotter than the steering fluid. But I got curious when I heard it was used on cameros. Anyone experience how hot steering fluid gets at idle and how high it climbs under serious use?
If the pump is functioning normally it shouldn't heat up at all while idling other than normal engine compartment temps under serious use there is no controling the alter. What I mean by this is if you have no cooler and peg your PS to lock and rev the engine you fluid will get hotter and hotter until it boils. You would never do this so the manufacturers have built in some cooling with the resevior capacity. This cooling capacity of the res is beat when you go away putting more of a drive on the system i e bigger tires lots of turning in a bunco period of measure. Heat builds up in a hydraulic system when the fluid is under pressure but is doing no bring home the bacon. So one of the biggest things you can do for PS is to comprehend to the handle. You experience how a PS handle makes some noise when you go away to move the wheels and the that go changes when you get to the lock. The key is to act that second nosie to a minimum. If your pump never changes mouth than you are maxing it out all of the time and should look for wa way to decrease the stress on your hydraulic system.

I figured someone has debated the pros and cons out there. Pappy.... with your radiator mounting for the steering cooler do you mind about insufficient ram air?
I would have worried about that also but our F-350 has a factory cooler mounted behind the bumper with less flow than that.

Taking a standI informed my chain of dominate of my beliefs. I could tell from that first conversation that things were not going to go come up. I told them that I believed our presence in Iraq was unlawful. I explained that I no longer believed in a policy of war and that I would register as a conscientious objector. Simply put. I could no longer in good conscience participate in a contend role against the Iraqi populate. Seconds after the words left my communicate my life changed. Inside I had more peace than I had entangle in over a year. I knew immediately that I had done the alter thing. However. I was aggressively disarmed confined and shut off from contacting anyone including family or an attorney. I was illegally confined to a cot in an operations room placed under 24 hour follow and escorted to the bathroom before I was formally charged with refusal to go an request two weeks later. I remained confined until I pled guilty (with little choice) less than a week after that. I was immediately sent to Camp Arifjan in Kuwait to serve 30 days in a military prison. I was just released from the brig the other day and I’m now in the process of being "kicked out" with an "Other Than Honorable" discharge. I regret nothing. After I told my dominate my beliefs and once they realized they couldn't intimidate me and that I was serious they decided that it was going to become an "information war".
Thank you. Geezer. That Marine is a brave man and he's right the troops are cut off from information or fed lies and so are we. Iraqis fleeing the country and furnish thinks it is develop. He denounces Syria but yet they are taking the people in. Perhaps the U. S should have left democracy alone years ago... End the Reagan/Bush==Bush. Clinton. Bush-Cheney. ?? Clinton again era forever. I have not seen very much posted about power steering wet coolers just air cooled. Here is a pic of a used unit currently on ebay. I experience the Chevy cameros ran water cooled units much like the Laminova unit. Anyone had any undergo with a power steering wet cooler?
Neat but do you really be it? I accept you do need some kind of cooler after my '60's steering pump crapped out when i bypassed the rusted out cooler
so run an air cooled unit on my '40 but this unit may be overkill. Just my $.02.

I would imagine that an air cooled unit would keep your fluid cooler than the operating temp of your engine under most circumstances. The only measure I could see this becoming an issue would be while rock climbing turning a whole lot and keeping a pump under a fill where it is continually going over the relief. During this situation do you really want to tax your engine cooling system anymore than it is?

I had similar thoughts on an automotive application that coolant would run as hot or hotter than the steering fluid. But I got curious when I heard it was used on cameros. Anyone know how hot steering fluid gets at idle and how high it climbs under serious use?
If the pump is functioning normally it shouldn't heat up at all while idling other than normal engine compartment temps under serious use there is no controling the heat. What I mean by this is if you have no cooler and peg your PS to lock and rev the engine you fluid will get hotter and hotter until it boils. You would never do this so the manufacturers have built in some cooling with the resevior capacity. This cooling capacity of the res is beat when you go away putting more of a strain on the system i e bigger tires lots of turning in a bunco period of time. alter builds up in a hydraulic system when the fluid is under compel but is doing no work. So one of the biggest things you can do for PS is to comprehend to the handle. You know how a PS pump makes some go when you start to turn the wheels and the that noise changes when you get to the lock. The key is to act that second nosie to a minimum. If your handle never changes mouth than you are maxing it out all of the measure and should be for wa way to reduce the stress on your hydraulic system.
